Microsoft Word offers users dozens of options for personalizing their documents. These features are meant to be helpful, but they can be confusing when they're accidentally turned on---such as three different kinds of margin lines.

Margin Marks in Each Corner of a Word Document
Step 1
Remove the following Asian languages from your enabled languages menu; Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Do this by clicking 'Start.'

Select the four Asian languages listed in step one.
Click Remove. Then click 'Okay' to update Microsoft Word's settings.

Click on the 'View' tab in the window that pops up.
Go to 'Print and Web Layout' options. Uncheck the 'Text Boundaries' box. Click 'Okay' to close.
Left Margin Lines Only
Step 1
Click on the 'Review' menu tab at the top of the window.
Step 2
Step 3
Select 'Final Showing Markup.' Review any changes you've made to your document.
Step 4
Select 'Accept All Changes' and save your document.
